Softball

Mike Settle joined Florida Poly in 2026 after a long and successful coaching career at Lake Wales High School. He dedicated 20 years to coaching multiple sports at the school, including 11 years as the head softball coach, where he built a phenomenal record of 186-106.                 

Settle is excited to bring his deep local coaching expertise to the collegiate level as Florida Poly establishes its softball program. The University is actively working to join the NAIA and the Sun Conference for the 2027-2028 academic year, offering student-athletes a highly competitive environment with robust athletic scholarship options.

Settle’s coaching philosophy centers on helping players balance rigorous STEM academics with elite athletics in a close-knit campus community. He is eagerly building a foundation of excellence for the program’s journey toward competing in the NAIA Softball World Series.
