Phoenix Put up 7 Goals Against Atlanteans, With Hat Trick From Brangman

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Florida Polytechnic University men's soccer team delivered an impressive offensive performance on Friday evening, defeating Atlantis University 7-1 in a commanding home victory. The Phoenix were led by Johnathan Brangman, who recorded a hat trick and an assist, while five different players found the back of the net. Florida Poly controlled the match from the opening whistle, scoring twice in the first half before exploding for five goals in the second half to secure its seventh victory of the season.

The Phoenix wasted little time establishing their offensive presence, taking the lead just 32 seconds into the contest. Brangman opened the scoring off an assist from Adrian Arteaga, giving Florida Poly an immediate 1-0 advantage. Atlantis attempted to respond with several early opportunities, but goalkeeper Porter Malloy stood strong, making three saves in the opening seven minutes to preserve the lead. Florida Poly doubled its advantage in the 16th minute when Malik Payne finished an opportunity created by Brangman, extending the lead to 2-0. The Phoenix continued applying pressure throughout the remainder of the half, generating 13 shots and three corner kicks while maintaining their two-goal advantage heading into halftime.

Florida Poly carried its offensive momentum into the second half, quickly putting the match out of reach with a pair of goals in the opening seven minutes. Julian Villegas extended the lead to 3-0 in the 50th minute, finishing a chance set up by Arteaga for his second assist of the evening. Just over two minutes later, Isaiah Azore joined the scoring column in the 52nd minute, converting an assist from Felipe Romero to make it 4-0. The Phoenix continued to dominate possession in attacking areas, consistently creating scoring opportunities and preventing Atlantis from establishing sustained offensive pressure.

Brangman continued his outstanding performance in the 59th minute, scoring his second goal of the contest off assists from Payne and Tarquin Adams to push the advantage to 5-0. The Phoenix forward completed his hat trick in the 66th minute, converting a penalty kick to extend the lead to six goals. Brangman's three-goal performance highlighted a balanced Florida Poly attack that featured contributions throughout the starting lineup. The Phoenix added another goal in the 71st minute when Michael Archer found the back of the net, extending the advantage to 7-0 and capping an impressive stretch of five unanswered second-half goals.

Despite holding a commanding advantage, Florida Poly continued searching for scoring opportunities throughout the closing stages of the match. Peter Janzen, Stiven Moreno and Martin Aguilar each generated offensive chances as the Phoenix maintained pressure on the Atlantis defense. The visitors eventually broke through in the 90th minute when Marcelo Jacinto scored at the 89:32 mark, preventing the shutout. However, the late goal did little to change the outcome as Florida Poly comfortably secured the 7-1 victory.

The Phoenix finished with a dominant 29-8 advantage in total shots, including a 14-5 edge in shots on goal. Florida Poly also held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks, reflecting its consistent offensive pressure throughout the match. Arteaga played a key role in creating opportunities, finishing with two assists, while Villegas, Azore and Archer each added a goal.
